gavinmaddockdesignstudio is based in Noosa, Australia’s favourite holiday destination, located on the sunshine coast one and a half hours drive north of Brisbane. The practice has been responsible for the design of some of Noosa’s most respectable establishments.

These include building renovations and interior fitouts for Rickys Riverbar + Restaurant, Tom Offermann Real Estate and the Ogilvie Group. The successful refurbishment of the Noosa Wharf complex, now named Qplace, has further demonstrated the practices’ passion for design as well as reflecting successful budget management. The reconstruction of the tenancy formally occupied by Riva Restaurant and now home to Wasabi Restaurant has added to the continuing list and range of projects.

From the Champions Centre for Kings Christian Church, a 3000m² multifunctional building in Buderim to the minor furniture refurbishment at Aromas Noosa on Hastings Street, the practice enjoys a diversity of skills and interests.

On the residential front, the practice is equally comfortable providing guidance to clients seeking low budget design alternatives to improve their living arrangements, as it is in providing full service solutions to clients seeking new dwellings on high profile properties.

Gavin's appreciation for and understanding of architecture and design in a larger context, has been developed through years of experience, initially at Metropolis Design and famed Stefan Antoni Architects in Cape Town, South Africa (where the focus was high-end Residential Architecture and Interiors) and then the much celebrated and awarded architect Gabriel Poole (RAIA Gold Medal recipient) in Noosa, Australia and Nettleton Tribe Architects at both their Sydney and Brisbane offices (where the focus is Commercial and Multi-Residential Architecture and Interiors), all prior to establishing his own practice in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. Architecture is often seen as an isolated activity, whereas the design of his buildings are the result of an integrated process incorporating interior design and landscape design, however all under the umbrella of life – whether it be at home, in the office or in community. In addition to his design and life experiences over the years, Gavin has developed a heightened sense of budget control which elevate the results of a project for the client.
